Known as “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the most visited cities in the United States of America and is known as a resort city because of its reputation for memorable restaurants, hotels and casinos, concerts, and all types of shows. It is one of the most populated cities in America and the most populated in the state, likely due to the consistent tourism and was founded in 1905. The name Las Vegas is Spanish for “the meadows” which is a reflection on the original landscape, the Las Vegas Valley where the city is situated. The Mojave desert, which occupies a section of the southern part of Nevada allows for the comfortable climate of long, hot summers and short, warm winters. Even with the multitude of skyscrapers and resorts, Las Vegas maintains dozens of parks and green spaces to help balance the industrial areas of the city. It is found in the center of Clark County, in Southern Nevada. The residential areas of Las Vegas, which has grown dynamically since the city’s turn of the 20th Century, surrounded the downtown area. Much of the Las Vegas history is found here including all the original hotels and casinos dating back to the 1900s like the Golden Gate casino, which opened in 1906, and the Golden Nugget which opened in the 1940s. The influx of tourism to Las Vegas began in the 1950s following the construction of the Nevada Test Site nearby which employed hundreds of thousands of people. The city was already well-known because gambling had been legalized in Nevada in 1931, the first state in the country to do so, which lead to numerous Depression-era hopefuls to flock to the city. As the city grew, Las Vegas became more and more popular, leading to its famous status as a recreational haven and a continuous increase in tourism. It wasn’t until the 1970s, fifty years later, that another hotspot for gamblers began to flourish; Atlantic City, in New Jersey. Because of its unique status as a completely legal gambling and betting state, Las Vegas was able to expand. The Las Vegas Strip, the more than four-mile-long Las Vegas Boulevard, is the center of tourism where the largest and most popular hotels and casinos are located. World-famous casinos like the MGM Grand and Caesar’s Palace are situated on this street. There are also several amusement parks found in this area that hold world-famous rides and attractions. The area is known for its shops that contribute to Las Vegas’s claim that they offer the best shopping in the country. Every year, there are different musical and entertainment tours that pass through the Strip, some even taking residence for months and performing nightly shows. The city of Las Vegas also boasts a large art district called the Las Vegas Arts District, an eighteen-block radius that includes several art studios, galleries, and antique and collectible shops. Las Vegas provides entertainment, history, and attractions for all types of people and interests. Las Vegas, Nevada has a rich tattoo history. Featuring shops such as Studio 21 Tattoo, King Ink, Club Tattoo, Downtown Tattoo, Precious Slut IV Tattoo Company, and Pussykat Tattoo Parlor, Las Vegas is a great destination if you’re looking for some new ink. With a population of around 589,000, there are lots of potential customers for the parlors in town. Yelp currently lists 189 different shops when searching for “tattoo” in Las Vegas. Google Places lists 200 different tattoo shops in the Las Vegas area, which shows how competitive the city truly is. Club Tattoo currently boasts one of the largest selections of artists in the area, listing the following artists on their site: Jose Carlos, Wakako, Gary Silva, Bexx, Hiram Casas, Robert Silva, Robert Kidd, Junior, Justin Van Bibber, Josh Herrera, Alex Lozano, Billy Greenway, Danny Frost, Jayo. When doing research for your artist, we suggest not paying too much attention to price because quality is much more important when you’re going to be living with the artwork for the rest of your life.
